Keona Kennedy has been playing in the shore breaks around Oahu since he was a toddler. In the late 80's, as the sport of bodyboarding was blossoming and Sandy Beach became the focal point on the South Shore, Keona was humbly going about his business in the shore break, throwing 360's off the top and under the hook, the occasional roll, and flowing with a style and ease that attracted the attention of some of the top pros. At 6'0 and 300, he definitely wasn't built like the other guys chasing the pro bodyboarding dream but that was never his goal, he didn't really care about what anyone else was doing. He wanted to surf, and progress and possibly shatter some of the conceptions of what a big guy could and couldn't do in the waves. Keona eventually became recognized as one of the premiere big men of the sport. His smooth style and effortless approach to pounding surf made him easy to spot and easier to watch. And as you would expect, Keona's signature model is designed for the bigger guy seeking speed, control and flex for unparalleled performance in this category. A wide nose, slightly parallel rails, deep channels and large tail pegs that tee up perfectly with the width and finish of the deep channels provide this board with out of the gates boost and effortless tracking. The throwback look and feel mixed with today’s high volume core technology and construction all come together perfectly. Currently available in 43" with additional sizes dropping soon.
